Sunday 23rd November 2025, Oxford Town Hall

Stravinsky was a life-long card enthusiast and wrote his light-hearted Jeu de Cartes ballet depicting poker, in which the dancers would dress as cards. Thomas Kelly plays Rachmaninov's fourth and final piano concerto, with its lush orchestrations and expressive melodies. The concert concludes with Tchaikovsky's extraordinary 6th and final symphony, full of raw emotions.

Saturday 14th March 2026, Oxford Town Hall

We start the concert with Strauss' swashbuckling tone poem Don Juan, then Emily Davis plays Szymanowski's second violin concerto, with its roots in Polish folk music. The concert finishes with Beethoven's Symphony no.6, featuring several bucolic scenes, a storm, finishing with gratitude for the storm's passing.

Saturday 20th June 2026, Sheldonian

Britten's Four Sea Interludes focus on different scenes of the sea and the inhabitants of a fishing village. Next is Bridge's Oration, in which the cello soloist is Tim Posner. Delius' beautiful tone poem Walk to the Paradise Garden is followed by Elgar's symphonic study portraying Falstaff.
